Unicamp launches new funding for scientific journals
Unicamp has launched a new public notice to support the maintenance and qualitative improvement of its electronic scientific journals. The initiative, organized by the University Library System (SBU) in partnership with the Pro-Rectory of Research (PRP) and the GCU, aims to strengthen academic publishing through two distinct funding modalities.
The first modality focuses on the routine maintenance of journal activities, ensuring existing support levels remain stable. The second modality, representing an expansion of the budget, is dedicated to editorial qualification projects. These projects include hiring services for indexing in academic databases and revising editorial structures.
By doubling the budget compared to previous years, the university intends to gradually assume more administrative and technical costs. This restructuring is designed to allow editors to focus primarily on academic and scientific curation, thereby improving the quality and agility of publications.
