UNICEF and Chirey partner to restore schools in Guerrero

Representatives from UNICEF and the Chinese automotive company Chirey visited the Hermenegildo Galeana Elementary School in Coyuca de Benítez, Guerrero, to support the recovery of educational spaces.

Guerrero state officials, including Subsecretary of Political and Social Development Francisco Rodríguez Cisneros and Secretary of Education Ricardo Castillo Peña, accompanied the visit. The collaboration aims to strengthen educational environments and child welfare in areas affected by natural phenomena.

UNICEF Deputy Executive Director Kitty van der Heijden and Chirey Executive Vice President Zhang Shengshan toured the facilities to assess current conditions. Officials emphasized the importance of maintaining coordination with international organizations and the private sector to address persistent community needs.
