UNICEF-supported MICS surveys progress in Albania and Solomon Islands

The Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS), an international household survey program developed by UNICEF to collect comparable data on the well-being of women and children, is progressing in several nations.

In Albania, the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), with technical support from UNICEF, is preparing for the MICS 2025–2026. The project includes the recruitment of a Coordinator for the Supervisors to oversee fieldwork teams, manage operational challenges, and ensure adherence to survey protocols during the 2026 implementation.

In the Solomon Islands, the National Statistics Office and UNICEF have successfully completed the first three-day pre-test for the country’s inaugural MICS, which is scheduled for later in 2026. The pre-test in Honiara aimed to verify questionnaire accuracy, translation quality, and respondent comprehension to ensure the survey functions effectively within the local context.
