Unicorn Gundam Statue to end exhibition in Tokyo following final ceremony
The life-size Unicorn Gundam statue, a landmark at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza since 2017, is scheduled to end its exhibition on August 31, 2026. To mark the upcoming conclusion, a final ceremony was held on August 29.
The event featured a special live performance by music producer Hiroyuki Sawano and vocalist SennaRin, who performed songs from the Gundam franchise. The ceremony included a retrospective of the history of life-size Gundam statues, noting that eight different statues have been exhibited globally over the past 17 years.
During the ceremony, the statue demonstrated its signature transformation from Unicorn Mode to Destroy Mode, synchronized with light effects and music. Despite rainy weather, numerous fans attended the event to celebrate the statue's legacy and its role as a major attraction for both domestic and international tourists.
