Unidad del Pueblo Canario announces Senate candidates for La Palma and Lanzarote

The Unidad del Pueblo Canario (UPC) coalition has announced its Senate candidates for the upcoming general elections on November 29.

Miguel Ángel Pulido has been selected to represent La Palma. Pulido, noted for his experience in local and regional politics, aims to advocate for public services, housing rights, and institutional transparency. The coalition emphasizes the need for legislative support in Madrid to address the specific socio-economic challenges and double insularity affecting La Palma.

For Lanzarote and La Graciosa, the coalition has named Fernando Jiménez, a physician and councilman from Teguise, as its candidate. Jiménez’s platform focuses on defending public healthcare, protecting the elderly, and ensuring the continuity of the Insular Hospital. The UPC alliance for this candidacy includes Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista, Izquierda Unida Canaria, Movimiento Sumar, Podemos, and the Partido Verde Canarias.
