Unidad Nacional de Seguridad Vial holds 19th Road Safety Week in Uruguay

The National Road Safety Unit (Unasev) is conducting the 19th edition of Road Safety Week in Uruguay. The initiative includes a traffic accident simulation at the intersection of Constituyente and 18 de Julio to test the coordinated response between the 911 emergency service, SAME-105, and firefighters.

Marcelo Metediera, head of Unasev, emphasized the importance of calling 911 immediately following an accident to trigger all necessary emergency services. The program also features a technical session to analyze improvements in emergency response following the unification of operating centers. Additionally, a maintenance day for delivery motorcycle riders will be held, offering free oil changes and inspections to promote vehicle safety.
