Unidentified homicide victims discovered in trash sites in Brazil

Police investigators in two Brazilian cities are probing separate homicide cases after bodies were found in waste‑dump locations. In the Águas Lindas neighbourhood of Belém, waste‑pickers discovered a male corpse among rubbish near an abandoned landfill. The victim showed signs of severe violence, including possible torture and a deep neck wound, but his identity has not been confirmed. The Polícia Civil’s Homicide Division has taken charge of the forensic and investigative work.

In São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo, a dismembered body was recovered from a trash bin used by a local snack bar. Police found multiple body parts, including a foot and other fragments, and suspect the victim may have been a woman based on painted nails, though this remains unverified. The identity of the deceased is also unknown. The case is being handled by the local Civil Police, with scene preservation and forensic analysis underway to determine how and where the killing occurred and who may have placed the remains in the bin.
