Unilever posts record quarterly volume rise, Ghana profit surge

Unilever reported its strongest quarter for volumes in more than a decade, with second‑quarter volumes rising 5.5% and underlying sales growth of 5.8% beating expectations. Turnover reached €13.8 billion and the company lifted its 2026 sales‑growth outlook to 4‑6%, up from the lower end of its prior range. It also noted progress on the separation of its food business, which is being merged with spice maker McCormick and is expected to be completed by mid‑2027.

In Ghana, Unilever Ghana PLC posted a 252% jump in profit before tax to GH₵167.4 million for the six months to 30 June, with revenue up 13.6% to GH₵606.2 million. Gross profit margin widened to 53% and operating profit margin rose to 27.3%, reflecting a favourable product mix and cost discipline. Profit after tax reached GH₵125.6 million and earnings per share increased to GH₵1.0044.
