Unilever shifts focus to beauty and personal care via portfolio restructuring

Unilever is advancing a strategic restructuring of its portfolio to focus on higher-margin beauty, personal care, and home care sectors while reducing its presence in the food business.

As part of this transition, the company is reportedly preparing to sell the mustard brand Colman’s to facilitate a planned merger of its food business with McCormick & Co Inc. This transaction is expected to be completed by mid-2027, after which Unilever is projected to hold approximately 9.9 percent of the newly merged entity.

Following recent quarterly results, Erste Group Bank raised its 2026 earnings per share (EPS) forecast for Unilever to $3.76 from a previous estimate of $3.73. Additionally, Unilever has entered into a partnership with Galaxy Surfactants Ltd to accelerate the development of new surfactant technologies for the personal and home care markets.
