Unión del Pueblo Leonés raises local resource concerns in León

The political party Unión del Pueblo Leonés (UPL) has issued several demands regarding local services and education in the province of León.

In Valdefuentes del Páramo, UPL councilors Carlos Del Pozo and Alberto Fuertes are calling on the local government to provide a suitable venue for elderly women's classes. They report that the current 12-square-meter space lacks heating and is insufficient for the 15 participants and instructors. The party emphasizes that these sessions are vital for social connection and combating loneliness.

In Ponferrada, UPL procuradora Rosa Quintanilla has petitioned the Castilla y León Ministry of Education for additional full-time specialists at CEIP Peñalba. Quintanilla is requesting immediate incorporation of professionals in Hearing and Language (AL) and Therapeutic Pedagogy (PT). She noted that the current unified preschool classroom lacks the necessary resources to support students with special educational needs, including those with autism spectrum disorders.
