Unión Industrial Argentina seeks relief amid economic transition

The Unión Industrial Argentina (UIA), led by President Martín Rappallini, is addressing the economic challenges facing the industrial sector during a period of transition. Rappallini expressed concern regarding the recession, rising costs, and trade liberalization, noting that manufacturing activity fell by 5% in July. To support businesses, the UIA has proposed measures such as suspending embargoes, rescheduling debts, and reviewing taxes on credit operations and VAT on interest.

In Catamarca, Governor Raúl Jalil met with UIA representatives to discuss strengthening local industry. As part of this effort, the provincial government confirmed it will move forward with eliminating the gross income tax for industrial activities to reduce the tax burden. Discussions also focused on implementing competitive financing lines, expanding the Free Trade Zone, and supporting the growth of the mining sector and textile industries.
