Nacional dismisses coach Jorge Bava and sports staff

Club Nacional de Football has officially dismissed head coach Jorge Bava and his technical staff following a 2-0 defeat against Racing. The decision follows a period of poor results, including a winless start to the Clausura tournament and recent eliminations from both the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.

The institutional shakeup extends to the club's sports management, with the resignations of Sporting Director Sebastián Eguren and Technical Secretary Martín Ligüera. Nacional currently sits in seventh place in the Annual Table and at the bottom of the Clausura standings.

The club has begun searching for a successor. Former player Sebastián Abreu is considered a primary candidate, with other potential names including Diego Monarriz and Daniel Carreño.
