A wildfire in Union County, Arkansas, known as the Pine Tree Road Fire, has burned between 2,000 and 2,114 acres since igniting on Thursday night. The blaze has prompted the evacuation of approximately 150 residents, who are being sheltered in El Dorado at the Municipal Auditorium and Immanuel Baptist Church.

As of Friday afternoon, firefighters had contained 45 percent of the fire's perimeter. Response efforts include ten bulldozers cutting containment lines, air tankers, and two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters authorized by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Entergy has de-energized power lines in the area to ensure the safety of crews.

While officials believe lightning may have caused the fire, a final determination has not been made. No injuries or structural damage have been reported, though homes in the Lawson area remain threatened. Authorities have closed Lawson Road (Highway 129) and Pine Tree Road to traffic.
