Union Minister Scindia urges Bhopal to skip petrol‑diesel cars following Modi’s energy‑saving call

On May 22, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, responsible for Communication and North‑East Development, visited Bhopal and asked local residents and supporters not to use petrol‑diesel vehicles during his two‑day travel in the Guna‑Ashoknagar‑Shivpuri constituency. He framed the request as a response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s earlier appeal for energy conservation, saying that saving each drop of fuel is a national duty given the current global situation. Scindia highlighted the need for simplicity, responsibility and prudent use of resources in public life, urging collective small actions to contribute to the nation's interest. The appeal also recalled Modi’s call for reduced gold purchases and lower fuel consumption to protect foreign‑exchange reserves.
