Union of Judges and Prosecutors reacts to 500 euro public sector bonus

The Union of Judges and Prosecutors has responded to the Greek Prime Minister's announcement regarding a new one-time payment for public sector employees. The government intends to legislate a 500 euro annual Christmas bonus for all public sector workers.

The Union described the announcement as ‘the first step toward complete vindication’ for those who campaigned to restore seasonal bonuses that were suspended during the economic crisis. While welcoming the move, the Union noted that this measure is still far from the full restoration of Christmas and Easter bonuses to the levels seen prior to 2012.
