Union Omaha announces plans for professional women’s soccer team
Union Omaha is expanding its professional soccer presence by introducing a women’s team to Nebraska. Following the success of its men’s team, which has secured two USL League One titles since 2019, the club aims to provide professional athletic role models for young women in the region.
The women’s team is expected to begin play in 2030, following the completion of a new stadium projected for 2028. The men’s team is scheduled to begin playing at the new facility in the spring of 2028.
In support of gender equity, club leadership, including Chief Operating Officer Alexis Boulos, will participate in the Women’s Fund Luncheon on October 22. The organization focuses on community-driven actions to advocate for and shift systems toward gender equity.
