Bodø/Glimt draws 3-3 with Union Saint‑Gilloise in Champions League qualifier

Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt and Belgian club Union Saint‑Gilloise played to a 3‑3 draw in the first leg of the third‑round Champions League qualifying tie. Bodø/Glimt opened the scoring in the 19th minute through a free‑kick by Patrick Berg. Union equalised shortly after when Raul Florucz volleyed from a corner. A penalty by Ole Didrik Blomberg restored Bodø’s lead, and Florucz struck again before halftime to make it 2‑2.

In the closing stages Union’s substitute Promise David appeared to give his side a 3‑2 advantage, but Bodø’s Odin Bjørtuft headed in a free‑kick in stoppage time to level the match at 3‑3. Sporting director Havard Sakariassen said the club is “ready to compete again in Europe” as they aim to become the first Norwegian team to progress to the Champions League group stage.

The result leaves the tie evenly poised for the return leg in Norway, with the winner set to face Olympiacos or NAC Breda in the playoffs.
