Anderlecht eliminated from Belgian Cup by Beerschot

RSC Anderlecht has been knocked out of the Belgian Cup in the round of 32 following a 2-1 defeat against second-division side Beerschot. Anas Haj Mohamed was the standout performer for Beerschot, scoring goals in the 22nd and 72nd minutes.

Anderlecht's struggles were compounded when Ali Maamar received a second yellow card in the 60th minute, leaving the team with ten players for the remainder of the match. Although Adriano Bertaccini scored in the 86th minute to narrow the deficit, Anderlecht could not find an equalizer.

The loss follows a recent defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League. Beerschot, currently leading the Challenger Pro League, advances to the round of 16 where they will face KRC Genk.
