Union SG defeats FCSB 4-0 in summer friendly

Belgian side Union Saint‑Gilloise beat Romanian club FCSB 4‑0 in a pre‑season friendly held in Belgium. Goals came from Mateo Biondic (30'), Raul Florucz (43'), Massiré Sylla (84') and Mohammed Fuseini (86'). The match attracted around 2,000 Romanian supporters, many travelling from abroad, creating a lively atmosphere despite the loss.

FCSB president Mihai Stoica said the result was secondary to evaluating players, noting the experiment of using Andre Duarte as a central midfielder and the promising performance of youngster Ricardo Pădurariu. Coach Marius Baciu and Stoica praised the fan support and said the club will continue preparations for the Romanian SuperLiga opener on 17 July and its Conference League preliminary ties against FK Auda on 23 and 30 July.

Union SG fielded a mixed line‑up, including recent signings such as defender Nikki Havenaar and midfielder Darius Olaru, who faced his former club. The victory was part of Union’s buildup ahead of the Belgian Super Cup and the new season.
