Union SG expands youth academy to develop Brussels talent

Henk Mariman is spearheading efforts to expand the youth academy at Union SG, with a specific focus on developing talent from the Brussels region. Mariman aims to grow the youth operations in alignment with the first team's rhythm, emphasizing the importance of allowing young players to develop within their own social environments.

To support this initiative, Union has invested two million euros into the academy and doubled its training budget. A significant milestone includes a new agreement with the municipality of Saint-Gilles, providing the club with improved infrastructure such as video and meeting rooms, which allows the entire youth department to operate from a centralized location.
