Union Square & Co. launches Singularity novella program

Union Square & Co., an imprint of the Grand Central Publishing Group and Hachette Book Group, has announced the launch of ‘Singularity’, a new novella program. The initiative aims to publish 10 to 12 titles annually in a concentrated, high-impact format designed for readers seeking depth in shorter works.

Led by Editorial Director Mika Kasuga, the program will debut in September 2026. The initial lineup includes Adam Cesare’s slasher ‘Zero Life Remaining’ and a new paperback edition of Harlan Ellison’s post-apocalyptic classic ‘I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream’, which will feature exclusive content and archival photos.

The Fall 2026 season will also include Kwan Ann Tan’s speculative adventure ‘The Server’. Looking toward Spring 2027, the slate features diverse genres including ‘The Psalmist’ by John West, ‘You Just Have to Ask Me’ by Hadeer Elsbai, ‘The Upper Tentacle’ by Amanda Helms, ‘Sweet Saints’ by Cassandra Khaw, and ‘Distance of Screams’ by Cherie Priest.

Emily Meehan, SVP & Publisher at Union Square, stated that the program was developed to address changing reading habits and the desire for ‘snack-sized’ reading experiences that do not compromise on narrative depth.
