Italy implements regional strategies for child rights, forest protection, and infrastructure

Various regional and national initiatives are being implemented across Italy to address social, environmental, and infrastructural needs. In Puglia, President Antonio Decaro and Unicef Italia have established a regional strategy for children's rights, focusing on mental health, education, and climate crisis mitigation through an Agenda for 2025-2030. Additionally, the Puglia region is investing 75.3 million euros into its 'Internal Areas Strategy' to support 55 municipalities facing demographic and infrastructural fragility.

In Abruzzo, a new regional law has been proposed to combat the 'Toumeyella parvicornis' parasite threatening pine forests, with a proposed fund of 1 million euros. In the L'Aquila province, nearly 6 million euros have been allocated for school building maintenance, road improvements, and public heritage protection.

National measures include a decree from Minister Giuseppe Valditara allocating over 114 million euros for urgent school safety, including asbestos removal. On a local level, the municipality of Gussola is receiving over 500,000 euros for a cultural hub, while Podenzano has secured 500,000 euros for its cinema-theatre. Meanwhile, the Italian government has allocated an additional 9.3 million euros to assist municipalities in the Valle dell'Agno following severe weather events in 2025.
