Unione Industriali Torino celebrates 120 years with new city development pact

The Unione Industriali Torino marked its 120th anniversary by proposing a “Patto per la città” (Pact for the City) to revitalize the region's industrial standing. President Marco Gay outlined a strategic vision centered on four pillars: industry, innovation, infrastructure, and education.

To support this growth, the organization emphasized the need for improved infrastructure, specifically highlighting the strategic importance of the Turin-Lyon connection. The industrial landscape is shifting toward multidisciplinary sectors, with aerospace notably generating 7 billion euros in turnover, accounting for 50% of Northern Italy's export in that sector.

In a related move to bolster competitiveness, the University of Turin and Confindustria Piemonte signed a framework agreement. This partnership aims to bridge academic research with industrial needs, focusing on high-tech fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and the green transition.
