Unione Rugby San Benedetto launches youth program for children
Unione Rugby San Benedetto has launched ‘Unione Rugby Kids’, a new sports program specifically designed for children aged 2 to 5 years. The initiative aims to use rugby as an educational tool for psychomotor development, focusing on agility, balance, and coordination through guided play.
To ensure safety, the program features zero physical contact, no tackling, and no intense competition. A key component of the methodology is the active involvement of parents, who accompany and support their children during sessions to foster emotional bonds and a sense of security.
Regular activities are scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 17, at the Palazzetto dello Sport in San Benedetto del Tronto. The club is hosting a free Open Day on Saturday, October 10, from 10:00 to 12:00 to allow families to experience the program. Technical coordinator Martin Murgier stated that the goal is not to create young rugby players prematurely, but to help children become more confident, active, and curious through play.
