Uniontex complex in Łódź to become residential and service hub
The former Uniontex textile complex in the Księży Młyn district of Łódź is undergoing redevelopment into a residential and service complex. The project aims to preserve the site's industrial heritage by restoring four historic buildings listed in the register of monuments: the porter's lodge, the weaving mill, the machine room, and the boiler house.
Construction is currently in the infrastructure preparation phase, with completed works including electrical connections and storm drainage. According to construction director Jerzy Brzeziński, the goal is to respect the site's history, which impacted tens of thousands of local residents. Further works, including earthworks and groundwater lowering, are scheduled to begin in November, with the first phase intended to include 119 apartments.
