Uniontown soccer community honors coach Steve Champlin

Steve Champlin, a prominent figure in the Uniontown-area soccer community, passed away on August 26 following a seven-year battle with stage IV melanoma. The 38-year-old father of two was deeply involved in local athletics, serving as a coach, volunteer, and board member.

Champlin spent eight years coaching with the Fayette County Youth Soccer Club, where he also served as treasurer, and was a coach for the Landsharks Futsal program. His family, led by his wife Sarah, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support provided by the local soccer community during his illness and is now seeking ways to honor his legacy and give back to the community that supported them.
