Italy unveils international coffee strategy and prepares for TriestEspresso Expo 2026
Italy has presented its international strategy for the coffee sector, titled ‘Development, Value, Partnerships,’ at the Farnesina. The initiative aims to build a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient coffee supply chain by combining economic diplomacy, research, and private sector partnerships.
The strategy consists of two main components: the ACT Coffee initiative, which focuses on the sustainable transformation of the coffee supply chain in Africa in collaboration with UNIDO and the International Coffee Organization (ICO), and the Global Coffee Initiative, developed with the World Bank Group and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) to mobilize investments and prepare projects.
Additionally, the coffee industry continues its regional presence with the announcement of the twelfth TriestEspresso Expo, scheduled for October 21–23, 2026, in Trieste. This biennial event serves as a B2B hub for the coffee industry in Central Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean, covering the entire value chain from green coffee trade to professional machinery and logistics.
