UNIPVC hosts ‘Move-te por Valores’ sports ethics exhibition
The itinerant exhibition ‘Move-te por Valores’ has opened at the Cultural Workshop of the Polytechnic University of Viana do Castelo (UNIPVC). Developed in partnership with the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ), the exhibition uses real stories to promote ethics and values such as fair play, respect, resilience, and discipline through the lens of sports.
At the UNIPVC venue, the exhibition features two new specific paths. The first focuses on Luís Paulo Rodrigues, the university's Pro-Rector for Research, Development, Innovation, and Technology, highlighting his journey through sports practice, teaching, and research. The second follows João Tomás, a former international football player who transitioned into sports management after completing academic studies at the university’s Higher School of Sport and Leisure.
During the inauguration, UNIPVC Rector Carlos Rodrigues emphasized that sports contribute to student well-being and mental health while providing personal and professional competencies. Ricardo Rego, the Sports Councilor for the Viana do Castelo Municipality, also noted the importance of sports within the academic community.
