Uniqlo to open 1,700-square-meter flagship store in Madrid

Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo is expanding its presence in Spain with the opening of its eighth store, located in the Triángulo Princesa commercial complex in Madrid’s Argüelles neighborhood. The new flagship store will occupy 1,700 square meters at Calle Princesa, 65, making it one of the company’s largest locations in the country.

The site is part of a major commercial repositioning of the Triángulo Princesa complex, which was acquired by the Canadian fund Brookfield. In addition to the retail space, the complex will include a 400-square-meter restaurant operated by La Famiglia. The new location places Uniqlo in direct proximity to major competitors such as Zara and El Corte Inglés.

This expansion follows a strong fiscal year for Uniqlo’s parent company, Fast Retailing, which reported a net profit of 542,516 million yen (approximately 3,060 million euros), a 25.3% increase from the previous year. The company’s total sales reached 3.96 trillion yen (22,330 million euros) by the close of fiscal year 2026.
