UNIS-GINEX reports 12.4 million BAM profit amid defense industry expansion

UNIS-GINEX d. d. Goražde, a prominent defense industry company in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reported a profit of 12.4 million BAM for the first six months of 2026. While this is a decrease from the 16.65 million BAM profit recorded during the same period the previous year, the company maintains strong financial standing, with total first-half profits reaching 44.17 million BAM.

Over the past three years, the company has invested nearly 37 million KM into its development and production capacities. A significant portion of its revenue is driven by exports, which accounted for more than 31.6 million KM. The company has also seen an increase in labor costs, with expenditures for salaries and personal earnings rising from 18.47 million to 21.65 million BAM, benefiting its 826 employees.

Ownership of Ginex is split between the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which holds a 51 percent majority stake, and private shareholders, including Halil Oković. To further its technological growth, the company has entered into a long-term cooperation agreement with the Turkish military firm Aselsan to jointly develop new technological solutions and launch mutual production within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
