UNISA Bandung launches OMEGA innovation to prevent stunting

Lecturers from Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Bandung have introduced the OMEGA (Olahan Menu Gizi Anak) innovation to combat stunting through the use of local food sources. Led by Mulyanti, the initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of Posyandu cadres in the Cibangkong Village, Batununggal District, Bandung, enabling them to process local ingredients into nutritious menus that serve as educational tools for families.

The program, titled “Cegah Stunting melalui Pelatihan Inovasi OMEGA (Olahan Menu Gizi Anak) Berbahan Pangan Lokal di Posyandu Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Ibrahim Adjie Kota Bandung,” is a Community Partnership Program (PKM) funded by the Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology for 2026.

Spanning approximately four months, the project includes nutrition seminars, the distribution of educational media, asset handovers, and cooking classes. Mulyanti stated that the local food-based approach was chosen to ensure nutritional education is practical and easy to implement in daily life. The program targets 10 Posyandu cadres representing various centers within the Cibangkong area.
