Unison secures 992.87 billion won offshore wind turbine contract

Unison has secured a contract to supply wind turbines for the Gochang offshore wind power project in Jeonbuk, South Korea. The company will provide twelve 6.35MW wind turbines as part of a larger Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreement worth approximately 297.38 billion won.

Unison’s portion of the contract is valued at 992.87 billion won, which represents roughly 246% of its total revenue from the previous year. The company is working in a consortium with POSCO E&C, where Unison is responsible for turbine supply and POSCO E&C handles the offshore and onshore construction. The project aims to establish a 76.2MW offshore wind farm near Sangha and Haeri in Gochang County, with the contract period running from late 2024 through June 2030.

This project marks a strategic move for Unison as it seeks to expand its business footprint from onshore to offshore wind power. The company intends to use this experience to strengthen its position in the domestic offshore market and aims to reach a revenue goal of 1 trillion won by 2030. Unison is also involved in several other wind energy projects, including Hanbit Offshore Wind, Yeongam Samho Wind, and Yukbaeksan Wind.
