Uniswap sees price surge following SEC regulatory exemption

Uniswap (UNI) has experienced significant price movement following a regulatory development from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). An SEC innovation exemption now allows permissioned pools to facilitate compliant automated market maker (AMM) trading for users in the United States on Uniswap v4.

The exemption specifically targets permissioned pools rather than the core permissionless protocol. Following the news, the UNI token saw a parabolic rise, jumping approximately 8.8 percent to reach a high of $7.64. On-chain data indicates increased institutional interest, with two newly created wallets withdrawing 1.07 million UNI, valued at approximately $8.38 million, from exchanges including Binance, Bybit, and OKX.

Technical analysts note that UNI has maintained a bullish structure, trading above its 20, 50, 100, and 200-day exponential moving averages despite broader cryptocurrency market volatility. The expansion of the Uniswap ecosystem and improved derivatives activity are cited as additional fundamental catalysts for the token.
