United Airlines expands Italian routes with new US connections

United Airlines is expanding its transatlantic service from Italy with two new direct routes scheduled to begin on May 28, 2027.

At Malpensa Airport, the airline will restore a direct connection to Washington Dulles International Airport after a twenty-year absence. The service will initially operate three times per week using a Boeing 767-300, targeting both business and tourism sectors.

Simultaneously, Catania Airport will launch a new direct route to Newark Liberty International Airport, serving the New York metropolitan area. This service will run four times weekly throughout the summer season from May to September, utilizing a Boeing 767-300ER. This expansion adds to Catania's existing North American connections provided by Delta Air Lines and Air Canada.
