United Airlines resumes Newark–Tel Aviv flights and military cargo shipments

United Airlines has resumed passenger service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. The airline, which had suspended the route following regional instability, is currently operating two daily round-trip flights and plans to increase this to three daily flights starting in November.

In addition to resuming passenger service, shipping data indicates that United Airlines is set to resume transporting military hardware to Israel aboard these passenger flights. Records show shipments destined for various Elbit Systems facilities, including locations in Rehovot, Ramat Hasharon, and Karmiel. At least one shipment was labeled as “FMS” (foreign military sales). This marks a return to previous practices where the carrier transported military cargo to the region via civilian routes.
