United Airlines suspends Newark to Dubai flights until 2027

United Airlines has announced it will suspend all direct flights between Newark Liberty International Airport and Dubai International Airport until at least March 2027. The decision is attributed to ongoing regional instability and conflict in the Middle East, specifically involving Iran and Israel.

The airline has been avoiding the Dubai route since February 2026, following an incident where a flight was forced to turn back due to the closure of Iranian airspace. While United is resuming some routes, such as Newark to Tel Aviv, the Dubai service remains suspended. The airline is suggesting that travelers use its partner, Emirates, for travel to the region.

Customers who held tickets for flights originally scheduled between October 24, 2026, and March 27, 2027, will be offered full refunds. This suspension comes amid travel advisories from the U.S. Department of State for both the United Arab Emirates and Israel.
