United Airlines tests gate-side food and amenity pickup at Newark

United Airlines is piloting a new service at Newark Liberty International Airport designed to streamline the airport experience for passengers. Through the United app, eligible travelers can order food, beverages, and various travel essentials to be picked up near their gate.

The pilot program is currently operating at nine designated gates within Terminal C. In addition to food items such as sandwiches, salads, and kids' meals, the service offers practical travel necessities including charging cords, travel pillows, and select over-the-counter medications.

United is collaborating with airport hospitality company OTG and participating restaurants to manage the preparation and delivery of orders. Newark was selected for this test run due to its status as a major connecting hub where passengers often face tight windows between flights.
