United Airlines to launch direct New York-Marseille flights in 2027

United Airlines has announced the launch of a new direct, daily flight service between New York-Newark and Marseille Provence Airport, scheduled to begin in June 2027. The route will be operated using Airbus A321 XLR aircraft, offering a travel time of approximately 9 hours and 15 minutes to the U.S. East Coast.

This marks the first time a major American carrier will operate at Marseille Provence Airport. The new connection is expected to significantly boost the regional tourism economy, particularly by targeting the growing American market. According to regional tourism data, U.S. travelers already represent a major international segment for the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, contributing nearly one billion euros in direct economic benefits.

By providing a direct link, the service eliminates the need for travelers to transit through hubs like Paris, London, or Frankfurt. The route also provides passengers with access to over 120 destinations via the Newark hub.
