United Arab Emirates seeks to avoid new regional military conflicts

Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, stated at the 22nd Manama Dialogue in Bahrain that the United Arab Emirates does not desire a new round of military confrontations in the region. Speaking at the event hosted by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, Gargash emphasized that the security of Gulf countries is an interconnected system, noting that any impact on one nation affects the others.

Gargash highlighted the necessity of restoring maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz to its status prior to February 28. He stressed that regional stability requires avoiding the escalation of tensions and ensuring freedom of navigation in maritime passages. While expressing hope for a diplomatic breakthrough between conflicting parties, he noted that the UAE remains prepared for the worst-case scenario.

These remarks come amid renewed concerns regarding potential confrontations between Iran and the United States. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has previously reiterated its commitment to diplomatic solutions and called for increased regional and international efforts to prevent further escalation.
