United Autosports wins LMP2 title at European Le Mans Series finale
The 2026 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) season concluded at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, featuring dramatic championship deciders across multiple classes.
In the LMP2 category, United Autosports secured the title after their No. 22 Oreca won the race from pole position. Drivers Griffin Peebles, Grégoire Saucy, and Ben Hanley claimed the championship, finishing 12 seconds ahead of IDEC Sport and Inter Europol Competition. In the LMP2 Pro/Am class, Michael Jensen, Enzo Trulli, and Malthe Jakobsen secured the title following a victory by Algarve Pro Racing. The class saw significant late-race drama when TDS Racing, which had been leading, suffered a drive-through penalty for track limits on the final lap, dropping them to third.
The LMP3 title was won for the second consecutive year by CLX Motorsport, with Paul Lanchere securing his second straight championship. The LMGT3 title also saw intense competition as Proton Competition fought to defend their standing against TF Sport.
