United Capital’s Assets Top N2.3 Trillion as It Expands into Rwanda and Ethiopia

United Capital Plc reported that its assets under management have surpassed N2.3 trillion, confirming its status as one of Africa’s leading integrated financial services groups. The firm now operates across 12 African countries and has become the first African financial services institution to obtain regulatory registration in both Rwanda and Ethiopia.

At a Lagos Investor Relations Roundtable, Group CEO Peter Ashade disclosed that the company’s micro‑finance bank has grown its capital from N200 million at inception to N5.6 billion and has applied for a national micro‑finance banking licence in Nigeria. He also said United Capital plans to acquire a commercial bank and to deepen financial inclusion nationwide.

Ashade highlighted that United Capital exceeded its internal AUM target of N1 trillion five years early, reached in 2022, and that shareholder wealth has increased by more than 2,500 % over the past eight years. The group’s expansion strategy is driven by a broader vision of African economic integration.
