Regional fiber provider United Communications announced its expansion into North Alabama during a ribbon‑cutting ceremony in Huntsville on July 28. The event, hosted by the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber, marked the company's entry into the fast‑growing market.
United, which has operated since 1947 and serves more than 130,000 customers across Middle Tennessee, said its Communities division will work with local builders, developers and property managers to deliver high‑performance fiber connectivity. CFO Kristin Jackson, a University of Alabama at Huntsville graduate, and Communities Manager Ray Baker highlighted the importance of reliable internet for the region’s rapid growth.
The company plans to announce specific service areas and future projects as agreements are finalized, positioning itself as a long‑term connectivity partner for North Alabama.
