United Democratic Alliance schedules repeat elections in Lamu County

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has scheduled a repeat grassroots election in Lamu County to ensure the integrity and transparency of the electoral process. UDA National Elections Board Chairman Anthony Mwaura stated that the decision for a fresh election was made to safeguard fairness and credibility in accordance with party rules.

The candidate registration portal is set to open on Tuesday, August 25, and will remain open until September 3 at 5:00 p.m. Following this, the board will conduct a verification exercise on September 4 and 5. The repeat election is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 12, running from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The party has urged all stakeholders and members to adhere to the prescribed timelines and to maintain peace, order, and discipline throughout the process.
