United Football League announces expansion to ten teams by 2028

The United Football League (UFL) has announced an expansion plan that will increase the league from six to ten teams by 2028. The expansion follows a season of record attendance and a sold-out United Bowl.

Rhode Island and Colorado are scheduled to join the league in 2027. The Rhode Island team will play at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, while the Colorado team will be based at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs. Official brand reveals for these teams are set for October 2026.

Utah and Oklahoma City will join the league in 2028. The Utah franchise will play at America First Field in Sandy, and the Oklahoma City team will utilize the MAPS 4 Multipurpose Stadium, which is currently under construction and slated to open for the 2028 season. UFL co-owner Mike Repole cited the league’s current momentum and energy as the primary drivers for this growth.
