United Group launches third-generation EON TV platform in SE Europe

United Group, a telecommunications and media provider in Southeast Europe, has launched the third generation of its cloud-based television and entertainment platform, EON. The new iteration features an AI-driven engine and a redesigned electronic programme guide, offering a unified experience through both a dedicated application and a set-top box.

The technology serves as a common foundation for the group’s regional brands, including Vivacom, Nova, and Telemach, allowing them to customize services for their specific markets. The rollout is being conducted progressively across several countries. The platform is already live with Telemach in Slovenia and was launched via Vivacom in Bulgaria on September 16. Future availability is planned for Greece under the Nova brand, as well as Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro via Telemach.

United Group CEO Stan Miller noted that the new app provides full functionality equivalent to the set-top box, which may reduce the need for physical hardware installations in many households.
