United Hatzalah Responds to Fatal ATV Crash and Saves Electrocution Victim in Israel

In the Binyamin region near Neve Erez, a 21‑year‑old charedi student, Meir Shaar, was killed after the ATV he was riding overturned. United Hatzalah EMTs attempted resuscitation but pronounced him dead at the scene, while a second rider sustained only minor injuries. The incident occurred during the annual Bein Hazmanim vacation period, which has seen several serious accidents, including a toddler drowning earlier in the week.

Separately, a United Hatzalah volunteer in the Binyamina area used his personal automated external defibrillator (AED) to revive his 26‑year‑old wife after she suffered a severe electric shock while cleaning. A single shock restored her heartbeat, and she was later taken to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in stable condition. Both events underscore United Hatzalah’s emphasis on equipping volunteers with advanced lifesaving equipment and rapid response training.
