United Kingdom clock change scheduled for October 25
Clocks in the United Kingdom will go back at 2:00 am on Sunday, October 25. This change provides an extra hour of daylight as winter approaches.
Most internet-connected devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops, will update automatically. However, manual adjustments are required for devices not connected to the internet, including alarm clocks and car radios.
The practice of changing clocks was first introduced by the German government in 1916 during World War I to conserve energy by maximizing daylight hours. The current system in Britain has been in place since 1971.
