United Kingdom weather: heavy rain and wind followed by rising temperatures
The United Kingdom is experiencing unsettled weather driven by multiple low-pressure systems. Heavy rain and gusty winds, with gusts reaching 40-50 mph in parts of Scotland, are expected to impact the country. While some areas may see sunny spells and drier conditions in the southeast, heavy rain is forecast to sweep across much of the UK, particularly on Tuesday.
Following this period of wet weather, temperatures are expected to rise again. Forecasts suggest highs of 23°C to 24°C in London and the south of England by the weekend and early next week. Despite the incoming rain, much of England and Wales remains in drought conditions, as sustained rainfall is required to reverse the impact of the recent record-breaking summer heatwaves.
