United Kingdom's Eurovision act scores zero audience points and finishes last

At the 70th‑anniversary Eurovision Song Contest final, three entries received no points from the public televote: the United Kingdom, Germany and Belgium. The UK was represented by Sam Battle, performing under the name Look Mum No Computer with the song “Eins, Zwei, Drei”. He earned a single point from the professional jury but zero points from the audience and finished in the last place.

Germany’s entry, Sarah Engels with “Fire”, also failed to gain any televote points and ended 23rd, while Belgium’s Essyla with “Dancing on the Ice” placed 21st without audience support. The British result sparked a wave of criticism on social media, with commentators describing the performance as a national embarrassment and questioning the UK’s commitment to the contest.

The backlash highlighted broader concerns about the choice of relatively unknown artists for the competition, as established UK musicians have previously declined to participate.
