United Muslims of Australia launches youth programs to combat crime
United Muslims of Australia (UMA) is running youth programs at its Padstow headquarters in western Sydney to steer children away from organized crime. The center hosts hundreds of boys and girls, aged nine to 15, every Friday for activities including prayer, futsal, and gaming.
Founder Sheikh Shadi Alsuleiman stated that the initiative aims to help young Muslims build a strong sense of identity and pride in both their faith and their country. The programs serve as a community response to the growing challenge of criminal networks recruiting impressionable youth in the region.
